Link to web or MySpace site. 2. Phone number and email to contact you. 3. What size crowd do you normally draw on your own? 4. Where have you played locally before? What bands have you played with? What are your industry affiliations, if any? 5. What are some well-known bands that you could use to describe your sound and your scene? 6. If you can get a full bill together for a night, please describe and estimate a likely draw. 7. Give us as wide a date range as you can for possible shows. 8. Please do not email MP3s, as it clogs our inboxes and makes us feel sad feelings. |
BOOKING: Parties, Events, DJs etc: Here's what you need to do. For dance parties, DJ nights, private/public events, fundraisers, screenings, cabarets, weddings, birthdays, art parties, happy hours, Balkan circle dances, and parties that involve live bands (but are mainly parties), use this contact info:  Include the following bits of information: 1. Type of event, name of event, people/groups involved 2. Phone number to contact you (very important) 3. Target date(s) 4. Expected # of people attending 5. Genres of music involved? Include MySpace links to bands and/or DJs. 6. Anything else involved? A bouncy castle? A monkey with a miniature cymbal? Catering? Sponsors? 7. If you've done events before, tell us about them. What? Where? With whom? Cool! Rickshaw Stop is a 4000 square-foot (including 1000 sq ft mezzanine) former TV studio, with full bar and food service. High ceilings, giant red curtains, and vintage rickshaws afford a quirky coziness to the space, which includes a ventilated smoking lounge, foosball table, balcony, and for certain events, a coatcheck and upstairs bar. The sound system is first-rate for a venue our size, and any event can be all ages! We typically book 6 weeks to 4 months in advance. **In case you don't know, Rickshaw Stop has been around since Jan 2004, and so far we have hosted such acts as M.I.A., Silversun Pickups, The Shout Out Louds, The Spinto Band, The Pipettes, Diplo w/Marlboro, DJ Funk, The Helio Sequence, The Fruit Bats, Scissors for Lefty, Supersystem, Jonathan Richman, Matthew Dear, Jolie Holland, Swayzak, Calvin Johnson, Dengue Fever, Von Iva, Gravy Train!!!, Tussle, Dealership, The Lucksmiths, Gold Chains, Pine*AM, Erase Errata, Midnight Movies, Moore Brothers, Controller.Controller, Chromatics, Matthew Herbert, Orange Peels, the Devil-ettes, Sean Hayes, minipop, Audrye Sessions, My Favorite, Black Fiction, Drunk Horse, Earthless, Immigrant and Ming + Ping. |
